# IREB CPRE Advanced Level (CPRE-AL)

 The Advanced Level consists of modules, with each single one focussing on a specific aspect, technique, task, domain or process.

### Target audience

The Advanced Level addresses the holders of the CPRE Foundation Level certificate, who want to deepen their knowledge of particular Requirements Engineering and Business Analysis activities. The FL certificate is a prerequisite for an AL certificate.

### Skills acquired through a CPRE AL certificate

The holder of a CPRE AL certificate

- is familiar with the specific terminology within the field covered by the Advanced Level module and the CPRE Glossary,

- has mastered the specific techniques and methods of the partial discipline of Requirements Engineering covered by the Advanced Level module,

- possesses sound knowledge within the partial discipline of Requirements Engineering covered by the Advanced Level module and has proven that in a practical examination.

### Prerequisites

The prerequisite for admittance to a CPRE Advanced Level module exam is a [CPRE Foundation Level](/IREB/CPRE/FL-foundation-level/) certificate or a certificate in Requirements Engineering from BCS.

The prerequisite for admittance to a **CPRE Advanced Level Practitioner** exam is a [CPRE Foundation Level](/IREB/CPRE/FL-foundation-level/) certificate or a certificate in Requirements Engineering from BCS.

The prerequisite for admittance to a **CPRE Advanced Level Specialist** exam is the CPRE Advanced Level **Practitioner** certificate in the **specific module**.

### Does the certificate have limited validity?

No, the CPRE certificate has lifetime validity.

### Exam Format

#### Procedure of the CPRE Advanced Level Exam

The exam regulations for CPRE AL define the two parts of the exam:

- a multiple choice test, which has to be passed before the second part of the exam

- a practical work as a requirements engineer and a paper describing the practical work
