Corporate Social Responsibility at Certible
Our Commitment
Certible‘s commitment to making a positive impact on the world is multifaceted, encompassing not only our dedicated efforts to reduce our environmental footprint, but also our support for the thriving open-source software community. We constantly strive to maintain a balance between sustainable business practices and technological innovation. From implementing ISO 14001 environmental management systems to sponsoring leading open source software like VueJS and Quasar, our approach to corporate social responsibility is comprehensive. This page provides an overview of our initiatives that demonstrate our commitment to environmental sustainability, social contributions, and the advancement of technology.
Supporting Open Source Software
At Certible, we deeply value the open-source community and understand the significant role it plays in technological advancement. Our commitment to this community is demonstrated through our active sponsorship of open source projects such as VueJS and Quasar. These tools are fundamental to our in-house certification software development, which facilitates the planning and conduction of certification exams. Their use empowers us to enhance our development efficiency and effectiveness, enabling Certible‘s in-house development team to deliver higher quality, secure and accessible software at a faster pace.
Our involvement with open source extends beyond mere usage and financial sponsorship. Certible actively participates in the community by contributing to the development of these tools through bug fixes, code commits, and feature suggestions. Through these actions we aim to foster a symbiotic relationship that benefits both our business and the wider open-source community.

Environmental Responsibility
At Certible we are aware of the impact that our operations have on the environment, and have always sought to minimise this as far as possible.
As a certification body we are aware that claims should ideally be independently substantiated, which is why Certible regularly undergoes external and internal audits against the ISO 14001 standard for environmental management systems, to continuously monitor and reduce our impact on the environment. These audits help us monitor our environmental impact, find areas to improve, and promptly implement necessary changes. Independent external audits provide an extra layer of credibility to our efforts.
Certible‘s environmental commitment is reflected in specific policies, for example our environmentally-friendly travel policy for on-site certification exams. Certible‘s proctors travel using public transport whenever possible, favoring more environmentally friendly modes of transport such as rail travel. For longer distances we also travel by (sleeper) train when possible, as an environmentally friendly alternative to short haul flights. We also strive to minimise our environmental impact by choosing environmentally friendly office products, minimising our plastic usage and paper consumption.
Environmental Charitable Contributions and Digital Certificates
Certible certification includes a high quality printed certificate as standard, in addition to a digital PDF certificate. We offer recipients the option to forgo a printed certificate, reducing their environmental footprint by saving paper, ink and transportation.
We provide an additional incentive for candidates to select this environmentally friendly option by supporting charitable causes, providing a donation of €1 on behalf of each candidate who opts to forgo their printed certificate.
We are proud to support the Maschinenring Blühpate initiative. By becoming a "Blühpate" we contribute to the preservation of biodiversity and the protection of pollinators in Austria.
