- ISTQB CTFL Certificate
The ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level Technical Test Analyst (CTAL-TTA) is designed for testers with a strong technical background who work at the code and system architecture level. This certification validates skills in white-box testing techniques, static analysis, non-functional testing (including performance, security, and reliability), and tool-based testing approaches. Technical Test Analysts are responsible for assessing the structural quality of software and identifying risks that arise from technical implementation decisions.
Prerequisites
The minimum prerequisite for participation in the CTAL-TTA examination is the Foundation Level Certificate. At least 18 months of practical experience in software testing, particularly in technical or developer-facing roles, is recommended before attempting this module.
Curriculum
The CTAL-TTA syllabus covers topics including control flow testing, data flow testing, code coverage criteria, architectural and design reviews, static analysis tools, and non-functional quality characteristics. The full curriculum is available on the ISTQB® website ⤴.
ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level: Technical Test Analyst
The CTAL-TTA (Advanced Level: Technical Test Analyst) examination format remains unchanged, consisting of 45 questions and lasting up to 120 minutes (or 150 with time extension) both with the new (2019) and old (2012) syllabus versions.
