The International Software Testing Qualifications Board has released the latest version of the syllabus and exam regulations for two of its Certified Tester Advanced Levels: Test Analyst (CTAL-TA) and Technical Test Analyst (CTAL-TTA).
An overview of the main differences between the content of two versions can be found on the ISTQB website.
There is one major change to the exam format, of which candidates should be aware: The duration of the CTAL-TA (Test Analyst) examination has been reduced from 180 to 120 minutes. Accordingly, the number of questions has been reduced from 60 to 40.
The pass mark of all ISTQB exams remains unchanged at 65%. Being the holder of a Certified Tester Foundation Level certificate also remains a prerequisite to all Advanced Level ISTQB exams, as well as the Foundation Level Agile Tester Extension.
